Description
We offer accommodation close to nature with a varied landscape of forest, cliffs, sandy beach with a swimming raft, and a jetty with fixed benches offering a fantastic view over the bay.
The cottage is an extended 18th-century croft in a beautiful natural setting right by the water. The large house/croft includes a small, charming beach cabin by the water with 4 beds.
There are also two log cabins, Skogsgläntan and Bergsstugan, available for rent, each 24 m2 with a kitchenette and 4 beds, located in the forest and on the hill. Access to a lovely swimming beach.
A wonderful place for new, inspiring nature experiences. Rent for company events, family gatherings, or for one or two families in the summer to enjoy a fantastic summer stay. We have had many guests who found our Stensundet perfect for staying together as a family with grandparents.
We rent out rowing boats, Optimist dinghies, life jackets, and bicycles. Free parking on our property. On the island, there are 2 canoe/kayak rental companies about 12 km away. Grocery store, post office, bakery, and 4-5 restaurants are 4-6 km away.
At our Stensundet, there are generous green areas for boule, croquet, football, rounders, or simply to sit on a blanket and have a picnic on a rocky outcrop or on the grass. For children, there is also a trampoline, swings, and plenty of play opportunities in the sand by the beach.
Ljusterö is a large island in the Stockholm archipelago with a varied rural landscape. In addition to agriculture, forests meet lakes and the seascape in bays and inlets. Here you can hike in the woods and countryside, be out on the water, or cycle on old country roads. For cars, there are now modern wide roads between the ferry and different parts of the island.

Directions
By car from Stockholm, take the E18 towards Norrtälje, but turn right to Åkersberga (road 276), continue about 18 km towards Ljusterö. Take the car ferry (Ljusteröleden timetable), drive 7 km towards Linanäs, but about 100 m after the end of Arnöbacken, turn sharply right to Stensundet. About 50 m to parking.
By bus 626 from Danderyds sjukhus to Ösbyfjärden and walk about 200 m back on Ljusterövägen to Stensundet.
By Waxholm boat (see Waxholmsbåtarna timetable) from Strömkajen to Linanäs and continue to Stensundet by bus 626 or taxi. Taxi 020-202020 often serves Ljusterö.
