Classic red and white Swedish cottage with large garden located on a 50 acre large private island in beautiful Tjust archipelago just north of Västervik in Småland. No neighbours will bother you since there are no other tenants on the island. The farmhouse was erected in 1914 and is located some 50 meters from the sea facing southwards. The house has been carefully renovated during the last years. The kitchen is equipped with electric cooker, microwave oven, dishwasher and a large fridge and freezer. Washing machine in adjacent room. Two bedrooms with two large double beds on the upper floor and a beautiful living room and spacious kitchen downstairs. Fireplaces in all rooms and kitchen. At the dock is a newly refurbished small house where you can relax and take a warm shower. Charming outhouse. The Fishermans cabin in the immediate vicinity of the sauna and has a bunkbed for two persons and a large and comfortable davenport for two. The cabin can be used if agreed with landlord.

Parking lot and mooring on the mainland ( Östanvik ) is included as is the rowboat that awaits you there. From the mooring you row the the short 300 meter ride to the island. You can easily see the house on the island from the jetty.

A large beautiful sauna by the sea that can host ten to twelve people can be used after agreement. Canoe is available for use after agreement. Deposition for use of canoe and sauna is required.

A wonderful gazebo, with a vast view over the sea, for contemplation or nice meals, can be used after agreement.

Two glass houses, both with double beds, deployed in secluded parts of the island, where you can enjoy watching the stars of the nordic sky before you fall asleep, can also be rented after agreement.

Excellent fishing in the waters that surround the island. Good sized european perch and northern pike is a common catch. Fishing with rods is free.

Wildlife is rich and you might encounter deer, fallow deer and elk at Hersö and its neighbouring regions. Sea eagles and herons are regularly seen and if you are lucky you might also see seals and cranes. During the winter season wild boars might also be seen at Hersö but they usually move away during the summer season.

The picturesque summer town Västervik is only 30 minutes car drive away, The popular Astrid Lindgrens World, close by Vimmerby, where you and your children can get to know the authors characters like Pippi Longstocking, is only 60 minutes away and Scandinavias best zoo at Kolmården, just outside Norrkoping takes about an hour and a half to reach. You will find excellent golfcourses and padel courts in both Loftahammar and Vastervik. If you like hiking the are also several options in the area.

Directions
Turn off E22 at Björnsholm toward Loftahammar. After circa 10 minute drive take the byroad on right hand side towards Vinö and drive all the way to Östanvik where you can park your car at the parking lot close to the mooring.
