At the Östergötland coast between Norrköping and Söderköping lies Mem which is the first sluice at Göta Canal with a lot of boat traffic to watch. The canal was inaugurated in 1832. In Mem, which is built around the canal with buildings that formerly housed Lotsstation, Tullhus, Post, Tullpackhus, Skeppshandel and more, there was also a school that was built in 1890 and where classes were conducted until 1938.
It is the charming well-preserved school that Mems building association hires out.
Besides the schoolroom, there is an apartment of about 70sqm, 3 room with 4 good beds. Fully equipped kitchen and bathroom with shower. In addition there is a small house with 2 beds. On the patio there is barbecue and furniture. The house is located in the old village at Mem at Göta canals first sluice. Within a few hundred meters there is Kanalmagasinet with a cafeteria, sluice, Mem Castle, swimming and fishing, etc. Bikes are available for rent, if for example you want to take an excursion to Soderkoping 5km away.

Directions
E4 to Norrköping, from there take the E22 south about 5km, the signboard Mem 11 towards the left. If you take the E22 from the south up, take a left after the canal bridge in Söderköping, then drive about 6km and take a right at the signboard Mem 6.
