Enjoy sunny days on the island Gällnö. Only 100 meters to the beach and jetty. Despite the proximity to Stockholm a visit to Gällnö is nothing but peace and relaxation, far from the city life. Gällnö is located in the middle of Stockholms archipelago outside Värmdölandet, about 90 minutes by boat from Stockholm. The island offers a variety of nature with great hiking areas mixed with traditional archipelago nature.
The cozy cottage renovated during 2015-2016 is about 55kvm and lovingly cared for. Garden/forest plot of 3 000kvm offers lovely seating to enjoy the serenity and the sun. Large hammock, swings and trampoline. Well equipped kitchen with dining area for 6 persons. Living room with comfortable sofa bed (2 pers.), Armchairs, fireplace and TV.
Bedroom 1 with single bed 140x200cm and a cot 0-5 years.
Bedroom 2 with bunk beds 80x200.
Glassed patio with sofa, lounge furniture and dining area. View of the water. Charcoal grill. Dining under the roof at the entrance of the house. Shower room. Combustion toilet in a separate room (outside).
In the basement there is a washing machine and freezer available.
As an optional extra, you can rent the guest cottage (12kvm) with room for 3 persons in a “family” bunk bed (the lower bed in the bunk bed is wider than an ordinary).
About 10 minutes’ walk to Gällnö krog (restaurant) and grocery store. About 15-20 minutes’ walk to the jetty where Vaxholmsbåten (regular ferry) arrives.
On the island there are two public beaches that are well worth a visit.
One of the farms on the island are still conducting agriculture and here you can find animals grazing freely in the meadows. Together with the pastures, the forests, cliffs and the beaches the island is a nice experience for everyone. For those who want to explore the island properly there are nice bicycle and walking paths. Walk the four kilometer long Gällnöstigen and learn about Gällnös history as well as the flora and fauna. Far into the forest is also an old “Ryssugn” (an oven the Russians where known to use) remains from the Russians ravages during the seventeenth century in the archipelago.
