The cottages are close to nice swimming areas, hiking trails, barbecue spots, and open meadows where children can run freely. From the island, you have views of the outer archipelago and several small bays where you can swim, fish, and enjoy the summer.
The cottages

A shared service building is nearby with toilet, shower, and dishwashing facilities.

How to get here
Boat service operates in summer from Fyrudden (Skärgårdskompaniet).
The trip takes about 45 minutes.
Upon arrival, you are greeted by a car-free and quiet archipelago – there are no cars here, only nature and the sea.

There are twelve cottages here with swimming and fishing just outside the door. The cottages are located on the southeastern part of Ämtö island, less than 100 m from the beach and with a view over the inner waterway.
The cottages are 20 sqm each and accommodate 4 people. Each cottage has heating and a countertop stove with oven, refrigerator, as well as bedding and kitchen equipment. Shower and toilet are in a nearby service building. Smoking is prohibited in all cottages. Fresh water is available at taps outside the cottages.
The cottage village also includes a wood-fired sauna and a small kiosk. The rental includes the opportunity to borrow a rowboat, which is shared with the other cottages. Life jackets are available to borrow. There is also the possibility to rent kayaks.
A child-friendly swimming area is right next to the cottages. The sandy beach is below the cottages, and if you prefer swimming from the rocks, this is within a short walking distance.
Fishing with hand gear is free in the archipelago, but please note that within the Väggö nature reserve (northern part of the island), it is forbidden to stay within 100 meters of the shore.
There are also several marked hiking trails/nature paths with information about flora, fauna, and the island's history. Swimming spots and rest areas with barbecue facilities are available in several places along the island's shores.

Directions
To get to Ämtö, take a boat from the harbor in Fyrudden. Take the E22 to Valdemarsvik. Take road 212, pass through Valdemarsvik and continue towards Gryt. Follow the road through Gryt village until you reach Fyrudden harbor.
During high season, the archipelago boat Ellen af Harstena departs from Fyrudden harbor to Ämtö at 10:00 every day. Book in advance at www.skargardslinjen.com.
You can also take a taxi boat with Harstena Skärgårdsresor to Ämtö. Book a place at 0760-775550.
