At Färnebofjärdens national park you can swim, play, fish, go canoeing and relax on one of the amazing 5 km long sandy beaches surrounding the peninsula Östahalvön in Färnebofjärden.
Canoeing or hiking is perfect for exploring the unique wilderness in the nature reserve and in Färnebofjärdens national park. Here is a great diversity of species and there is a big chance of seeing for example sea eagles and ospreys. The waters are abounding in fish. There is pike, zander and perch, and you can rent a boat to go fishing. Grayling and salmon trout can be found in the streams.
Rent a canoe that can take you out in the wilderness, where you can take a break by wind shields and barbecue sites. The marked hiking trails will take you past observation posts and bird towers ans past springs and cultural environments. Kyrkstigen (the church trail) will give you great nature and animal experiences, and you can see the nests of beavers.
In the surrounding area you can visit Ingbo springs and Älvåsa. In Gysinge you will find fascinating historical buildings with Naturum for information about the Nationalpark. There are great fishing in the stream and a café near. Gysinge byggnadsvård. Also visit Gårdsjö Älgpark for a moose safari , Sala silver mine, Olpersgården.
The cottage has a view over the lake and is located 200 m from the beach, well enclosed in nature. In the cottage there are 3 bedrooms, 6 beds in total. In 2 of the bedrooms there are bunkbeds. The kitchen is well equipped and is combined with the living room. Dining place, sitting furniture and TV. WC/shower, waschingmachine. Outdoor area with outdoor furniture and a barbecue. WiFi.
The cottage is for rent weekly or daily for self-catering. We also have a fishing offer which includes the cottage for 6 people, aluminum boats with 4 hp engines and fishing license for Färnebofjärden.
Road 72 between Uppsala and Sala. Turn towards Gävle/Tärnsjö just west of Heby on road 56. After 25 km follow the signs to the left towards Östa, Camping and Färnebofjärdens National park. After 300 m take right and after 100 mtake left and continue 10 km to the cottage village by Östa camping.
