About our garden house
Come and stay in our gardenhouse from 1925 next time you visit Vadstena. We live in the centre of Vadstena close to shops, cafes, restaurants, and the many historic sights worth visiting whilst here. Lake Vättern and the opportunity of a beautiful stroll or a swim is just a couple of minutes away by foot as well.
The apartment is situated on ground floor in our garden house and consists of a fully equipped sit in kitchen, a living room, a bedroom and a bathroom with toilet and shower. The flat offers four beds – the bedroom has two single beds and the livingroom a comfortable sofa bed for two. We can also accomodate a travelcot and a highchair if needed.
The livingroom also offers a fireplace.
Staying visitors have their own outdoor space and access to a BBQ. Smoking is not allowed indoors. Car/s can be parked at nearby carparks around the town centre.
Background
The main house at Nygatan 4 was initially built around 1850 and a part of the house was in the early days used as a private school. Since then it has provided private housing for a range of personalities from various professional backgrounds.
The gardenhouse was built 1925, although pictures from around 1900 shows that there was a similiar building there before.
Since 2012 the family Gray owns Nygatan 4 and we are a Swedish-English couple with a two year old son and another child on the way.
Price and how to book
The gardenhouse can be rented all trough the year. Bedlinen and towels are included in the price.
The price per night is:
• high season 1000 SEK (June-Aug)
• low season 500 SEK (Sep-May)
The price for a week during high season is 6000 SEK.
For long term stay during low season price is negotiable.
The gardenhouse is a self contained flat. Therefore as a quest you need to provide for yourself and what you need during the stay. You also need to clean the apartment before departure.
If you would prefer to pay for us to clean after your departure and/or would like us to leave groceries for breakfast if you arrive late this could be arrange with prior notice.
