Description
Historic log cabin from the Dalarna region moved to the Stockholm archipelago in the 1940s. Hand decorated by Dalarna artist. The cabin has two fireplaces, wooden floors, old windows and a porch facing the South. Antique furniture.
The white little guesthouse was remodeled 2021. It features a big room, with white walls and wooden floor painted grey. A new kitchen along one wall. Table and chairs. Foldout couch in front of the big window. Bathroom with gren tiles and bathtub. Washer and dryer in the kitchen. Carport.
35 minutes with local bus from Slussen, plus a 10-15 minutes walk down a small road with sparse traffic.
The house is situated on a 3000 sq m property in a rural neighborhood adjacent to the woods and three pristine lakes. The closest lake is a 2 minute walk away, with waterlilies, no houses around and only a small dock. One of the other lakes has a beach suitable for kids (also with two docks and swings).
Birds, squirrels, deers and sometimes foxes visit the garden where roses, peonies, honeysuckle, syringa, gooseberries, lilacs, lilies, clematis, magnolia and rhododendron grow among round shaped rocks, moss, wild strawberries, blueberry bushes, cherry trees, pines and fir trees. The garden also features a 8 sq m greenhouse constructed from antique windows. Guests are encouraged to water the plants when needed.
You are welcome to bring pets to the cabin. The entrance has a cat door. Be warned that there are other cats living in the area. We do not allow pets in the guest house.
There is no landline phone or internet service but internet can be shared through the hotspot on your cellphone. Theres a stereo with AUX cable and a TV screen in the cabin.
The sea is a 20 minute walk away, or take the bus farther out to the end station Stavsnäs to get to the harbor where boats will bring you out to the islands of the Stockholm archipelago.
The larger room has a fireplace and old-fashioned paintings adorning the ceiling. Electric heater which also functions as AC. Couch comfortable enough to sleep in, armchair, bookshelf, piano, table and chairs. Above is a loft with a small window and a mattress.
Next to the kitchen is the bedroom which holds a double bed and a chest of drawers.
The kitchen is simple but clean. It has a wood burning fire stove as well as an electric stove with an oven. An old radio and antique china decorate the kitchen. There is a window above the sink with a view of the woodland and a small gravel road. There is a new and quiet fridge and freezer, a water boiler, and a coffee press. Warm and cold potable running water.
The bathroom has a shower and WC.
Firewood, electricity and other fixed costs are included.
Please observe that for confirmed bookings we require a deposit of 2000 SEK. If booking is cancelled, 1000 SEK will be payed back. Last minute booking is subject to availability.
